You are mistaken. Here’s the deal: You know how the headset and controllers are covered in tiny sensors? There are now two models of those tiny sensors, 1.0 and 2.0. The 1.0 sensors can only detect a signal from a 1.0 Lighthouse/Base Station; if you use a 2.0 Lighthouse/Base Station, any device using those 1.0 sensors does not work. But if a device is covered in the new 2.0 sensors, that device is backwards compatible; it will work with either 1.0 or 2.0 Lighthouse/Base Stations.
Pimax 8K is using the new 2.0 tiny sensors. The HTC Tracker pucks, on the other hand, are only using the 1.0 tiny sensors, so will not work with Base Station 2.0. If you get a Pimax with its 2.0 Base Stations, the tracker pucks won’t work; you would need to go out and buy current Vive Base Stations, then you would be able to use both Pimax and HTC Trackers.
