According to an article on a German VR site, VRNerds.de, HTC announced the release of a Vive Pro, featuring a resolution of 3K, i.e.1600 x 2880 (both eyes), which is pretty much at the level of Samsung Odyssee, and integrated speakers (would be a default audio strap, I guess).
In addition they are going to release a wireless module in Q3 based on Intel's WiGig tech.
That would mean all eyes remain on Pimax, as this does not change the landscape in any significant manner...
If this is all information HTC are making available today, it will remain unclear, when this new Vive pro will be made available, at which price point, if it replaces the Vive, if it is sold stand-alone for current Vive users, if the lenses are adapted to allow for a better sweetspot, etc. etc.
