So the specs are confirmed:
- 2880 x 1600 resolution OLED display ( 1440 x 1600 per display)
- Integrated audio with in-line amp, dual mics (headphones are removable)
- Change to the lens-to-eye distance knob to a button
- Dual passthrough camera sensors
- Sensors are SteamVR 2.0
So essentially it's a Samsung Odyssey with SteamVR tracking included. Mid life upgrade at best, at worst some would consider this a cash grab. It will really depend on what they do with the pricing TBH. They have said they are going to continue to sell Vive 1, so they'll either drop the price on that substantially or have to sell the new Vive Pro for a higher price which would be a bad idea considering the Odyssey is only $499.
It looks like they might be selling this as a HMD only, no Lighthouse included. Not sure what the business case would be for this, eliminating new customers essentially. UPDATE - This is wrong as confirmed by Dreamwriter below.
