You're part right but then you quoted the native resolution for the vive and not its default rendering resolution. The default for the Vive is 1512x1680!
The default you've mentioned is total pixels: 2,537,556 (456MP)
The default for the Vive is: 2,540,160 (457MP)
So oddly for the Odyssey, it appears the default is actually very marginally less than the Vive.
EDIT: In context, this isn't native input resolution, just rendering. What goes down the wire to the headset I'm not sure what can prove that (maybe disabling direct mode and checking desktop res?) nothing I've seen has said the Odyssey does upscale that I've seen so the assumption is its native is 1440x1600 (per eye).
