I'm really interested to buy a Pimax 4K for various reasons. the first of all, I want to develop virtual reality scenes of my architectural 3D projects trough UE4 or some other similar engine. The second one, if possible, to use it sometimes with steamvr and in particullarly with Assetto Corsa.
Now the question is: could my laptop work with pimax 4k (maybe in extended mode)?
I own an Acer Aspire Nitro vn7-792g with an Intel corei7 6700HQ + Nvidia GTX960m and I read all the issues with pimax and laptops with nvidia optimus.
In the past I already use my pc for these purpose using my LG G3 with Trinus VR app with a very good results, but now I wanted something more practical to use for my works.
Can anyone take my doubts off?
I found this video on YouTube and maybe it's a trick useful to run pimax on optimus laptops with lower specs than requirements? It seems that In this way it's also possible to choose a lower resolution to have a better performances with low ends gpus. Maybe it's possible to create a workaround on PIPlay using this trick with a new compatible mode for steamvr?
There are also a reddit post about it, but inherent to Rift DK1 and DK2.
I'm pretty curious to know if there are some way to make this possible, especially for the cheap price of pimax in comparison to Vive and CV1
