Yes, I'll be hoping that some retail outlet may take on the Pimax 8K so that I can try it out first. But I doubt that that will happen as apart from the low cost Google Cardboard units, I have to date only seen Oculus and Vive sold here.
Although using extra lenses on top of the Pimax 4K lenses worked ok, it did not remove the need to wear my own glasses and so there were three lenses between my eyes and the LCD.
This produced a focused image, but a less than comfprtable experience and as far as I am concerned, this is not going to be acceptable for the Pimax8K.
This is now a second generation Pimax unit and if they haven't learned a lesson regarding the need for proper focusing by now, then they never will and so do not deserve to have me as a customer.
As much as I want to remain with PimaxVR, I am happy to wait for the right unit that will meet my needs and specifications.
I have been a product designer for over 30 years and I am totally over being beguiled by gee wiz technology and companies that promise everything and never deliver what they have promised.
I will not spend the many hundreds of dollars for a VR unit that will not give me a well focused image.
VR is all about the quality of the image and NOT about having the highest resolution unfocused image around.
