Foveated rendering, AMD optimization?

How does this HMD deal with AMD cards? Does foveated rendering work on those?
I’m planning on playing project cars 2 and assetto corsa with an OC Vega 64 graphics card and an OC ryzen 2700x, Are 90 FPS to be expected at medium settings with steamVR set at lowest resolution possible with 200 FOV (I’m coming from Rift, low resolution doesn’t bother me at all)

I think that the next Navi would have Variable Rate Shading (VRS) as the nVidia RTX graphic cards, for foveated rendering using eye tracking.

How it is the optimization on AMD cards, do they run at lower fps compared to nvidia counterparts? (1080 vs vega64 for example)
