What is the refresh rate of the 5K+? OFFICIAL PIMAX RESPONSE ONLY PLEASE

#1

Dear Pimax,

Can somebody from Pimax officially and categorically just confirm the refresh rate of the 5K+ please?

I along with many believe it to be 90Hz but I just want it confirmed please.

Thanks

@xunshu might be able to offer some insight.

#3

Thanks mate how do I get this over to her… do I have to add @xunshu in the post?

#4

She is already sufficiently tagged, I’m sure she’ll be in touch.

#5

This may be added to her recent Q&A thread as a backer question that they would need to get official response for.

#6

Ah I found one but I couldn’t see a way of adding to it but now I can’t find it again. I can’t even find a 5K+ section, maybe I’m being blind I’ll search again.

#8

yes! 90Hz

#9

What about panel resolution and/or screen utilization to achieve these +9% in PPI ?

#10

Xunshu is so awesome, if she is a she, if not, then I’d say a decent laddie.

#11

Thank you

Panel resolution is the same. The surface area of the screen being utilized is the same. But because the screens are smaller:

  1. the pixels are smaller (resulting in higher PPI); and 2) the screen utilization is higher (e.g. 500cm^2 used of a 750cm^x screen has higher utilization than 500cm^2 used of a 800cm^2 screen).

#14

So if both of them still aren’t using the full screens can we assume the FOVs are identical?

#15

Lol maybe not let Helen read this forum then

#16

The frames and the lenses are supposed to be the same, so I would assume so.
